I love my self care box, so much so I wrote a post about all my favourite items in it. It’s such a great idea to have a box of soothing, comforting and calming things that you can turn to in times of crisis, or when you feel like you need a little soothing.

But we’re not always at home, and if we need some comfort while we’re out and about, we haven’t got any resources to make ourselves feel better. However, by making an on the go self care kit, we can ensure that wherever we are, we have an emergency supply of things that can help us feel better!

In this post, I’ll be sharing everything in my on the go self care kit, and why I love them so much.

Essential Oil Roll-On

I’ve talked a lot about my love for essential oils, and you can find out my favourites here. But we obviously can’t carry our diffuser around with us all the time, so when I go out I take a roll-on like this one. When I feel stressed or anxious, I roll it onto my pulse points or hold it under my nose to feel instantly more calm.

Cooling Face Mist

When I feel stressed I get very warm, and in the summer, that only gets worse in the summer months. I’ve found carrying a face mist in my bag has been a lifesaver for these moments. I just spray it all over my face and neck and I feel better straight away.

A Snack

Including a snack in your on the go self care kit is SUPER important. On a busy day, we might not know when we’ll be eating, and going long periods of time without food can make us feel bad. Pack a snack such as a cereal bar that will keep for a long time so that it’s there when you need it.

Mini Notebook and Pen

Having a place to write down thoughts, feelings and ideas is very important when you’re on the go. Even though you could use the Notes app in your phone, there is something cathartic about writing something down. You can also use the notebook for drawing and doodling.

Jade Roller

Carrying your jade roller around with you means that you can give yourself a quick face massage wherever you are. If you hit a slump in the afternoon, the cooling jade can help to give you a boost and revitalise you so you have more energy to carry out your day, as well as feeling a little less stressed.

Your Favourite Crystal

Lots of people carry their favourite crystal around with them, as having it on you can bring you a sense of comfort and reassurance. You could keep it in your bag or pocket, and take it out when you feel stressed or anxious.

Stress Ball

Having a stress ball in your on the go self care kit can be useful in a few ways. Squeezing it in times of crisis will let you release some of your emotions, which will make you feel less weighed down by the negative feelings. It’s also something to use as a distraction if you feel anxious or stressed.

Affirmation Card

If you like to pull tarot or affirmation cards in the morning, it could be a good idea to include your card for that day in your self care kit. Being able to look at your card throughout the day will help to bring you reassurance and clarity, as well as guidance when making decisions.

Puzzle Book

These are great for when you’re at a loose end, or when you need a distraction. They help to take your mind off any problems or troubles that you’re having, which can be good for when you’re having a stressful day. They can also help to boost your brain and keep you alert.

Lip Balm

I don’t go anywhere without lip balm – there is nothing worse than your lips feeling dry and cracked. Carry around a soothing lip balm that will leave yoru lips feeling nourished, and you’ll feel a lot better about yourself now that you’re taking time to heal yourself.

There are ten ideas for your on the go self care kit! What’s in yours?

Lots of love,

Natalie
