Self care has become a phenomenon over the past few years, with so many people cottoning on to the idea that taking time to care for ourselves has positive effects on our mental and physical health.

You can now even practice self care from your phone, which is perfect if you only have a few spare minutes a day. In this post, I’ll be sharing 5 great self care apps that you can download today, that will improve your life.

#SelfCare

#SelfCare is probably the prettiest app I’ve ever used. It’s set in an airy bedroom, and you tap on different objects to complete different activities such as breathing exercises, word games and sorting laundry. The activities are very therapeutic and calming, and the meditation music in the background is very soothing.

Calm

Calm is my favourite meditation app. There is a wide range of guided meditations for however you’re feeling and what you need in that moment, and the soundtracks are all very relaxing, especially if you find it difficult to fall asleep. My favourite feature is the breathing bubble, which helps you take deeper breaths to reduce stress and anxiety.

Fabulous

Fabulous is an app designed by scientists at Duke University, so it’s steeped in research and facts. It gives you weekly self care challenges to complete daily such as drinking water and doing exercise. You can adjust the habits to what you think you need, and eventually you’ll start noticing big changes in your life from implementing small habits.

Reflectly

If you find it hard to keep a written journal, you could benefit from using Reflectly. You get to track your feelings and emotions every day, and see a graph of your results each week. Practicing self reflection is an integral part of self development, and it can only take 30 seconds. The app also gives you daily support and motivation.

Stop, Breathe and Think

Stop, Breathe and Think is another one of my favourite meditation apps. It has the widest range of meditations and mindfulness sessions, from 2 minutes to 20. There’s also a great variety of ambient music and background sounds for sleep and relaxation. I love the yoga sessions – they’re time effective but so beneficial.

There are my favourite self care apps! Let me know your favourites.

Lots of love,

Natalie
