Every now and again, when we feel stressed, overwhelmed and like the whole world is on top of us, it can be a good idea to have a reset day. These are days where you get your life back in order, sort out the things you’ve been putting off and feel as though you’re bossing life again!

In this post, I’ll be sharing some ideas for things that you can do on your reset day to get your life together.

Get Your House In Order

  • Declutter all of the rooms in your home one by one, making sure to organise your items into their correct places and getting rid of anything that doesn’t bring you joy (a la KonMari).
  • Once you’ve decluttered, go around and clean up your home, wiping surfaces, hoovering etc.
  • Declutter your wardrobe!
  • Take all your clothes out of your wardrobe and only put back in the clothes you wear all of the time and/or are sentimental.
  • Decide which clothes to take to charity or sell on Depop or Poshmark.
  • Organise your wardrobe in a uniformed way that suits you – category, colour etc.
  • Have a shoe and handbag review – if you only wear one handbag and pair of shoes the whole time, it’s time to get rid of most of the others.
  • Neatly organise your underwear and socks, reviewing which ones are probably a little too old or not worn enough.
  • Clean your makeup brushes.
  • Give an area of your home a revamp by introducing new decor or colours.
  • Water your plants!

Finances/Paperwork

  • Spend a day going through that big stack of paperwork that lives in your drawer, firstly binning all of the paper that’s unecessary.
  • Organise like papers with like papers – letters with letters, etc.
  • Make sure there aren’t any bills etc where you’ve forgotten to act on a letter, and if so sort it out ASAP.
  • Buy files and dividers so that you’ll always know where your paperwork and be able to find it fast.
  • Create a finances journal or planner that allows you to track your expenses and income.

Digital Space

  • Clean up your desktop, only keeping the things you need.
  • Find things to put into Trash and then empty it.
  • Review all of your pictures, removing any duplicates, blurry snaps or ones that you don’t like/want anymore.
  • Organise your Apps or documents into specific folders to make it easy to find what you’re looking for.
  • Uninstall any apps or programs that you don’t need or want.
  • Go through your subscription list on YouTube and unsubscribe from any channels that you aren’t interested in anymore.
  • Review who you are friends with on Facebook.  Try to unfriend people you don’t really know or aren’t close with anymore.
  • Unfollow any accounts on Twitter and Instagram that you don’t care to see, or that make you feel down, angry or depressed.
  • Go through your email subscriptions and only keep the ones that you’re actually interested in.
  • Declutter your inboxes by deleting emails that are no longer important, or are spam/trash.

Mental Health

  • Take a self care day for yourself to decompress (here are my favourite fall self care activities).
  • Do a brain dump or stream of consciousness style journal entry to clear your mind and reset.
  • Spend time practicing some meditation or mindfulness exercises.
  • Write out some goals you want to achieve by the end of 2019.

Physical Health

  • Practice some yoga.
  • Sign up for a new workout class, or one you haven’t been to in a while.
  • Do a YouTube workout.
  • Plan out your meals for the week.
  • Meal prep a few meals.

So there are some things that you can do on your reset day! I hope you found the ideas useful!

Lots of love,

Natalie
