I recently shared my ultimate Cozy Fall Self Care Morning Routine, and after so much positive feedback, I have decided to outline my fall night routine!

Fall nights are my favourite – it gets dark so early, meaning that you can get really cozy and hygge (read more about hygge here!), and really wind down from your day. It’s a wonderful time to take some me time and practice self care. So, without further ado, let me share my fall night routine with you!

Make A Cozy Dinner

The first thing I do in the evening is make dinner. Around this time of year, with the temperatures quickly decreasing, I like to make wholesome, hearty comfort food. These can include a variety of pies and stews, as well as Crockpot creations such as chilli, casserole and curry (click here for the Crockpot I use). Make your kitchen cozy by lighting some candles as you cook.

Getting My Comfies On

A lot of feeling cozy is making sure you’re wearing the right attire. make sure your wardrobe is stocked with lots of big, cozy jumpers, comfy leggings and soft lounge sets. I love getting changed into thick, fleecy pyjamas when I want to feel cozy.

Setting The Mood

Before I settle down, I want to make sure my space is at it’s optimum cozy potential. I do this by lighting my favourite fall candles (this one from Yankee is amazing!), turning on the fire, as well as switching on my pink Himalayan salt lamp. If you don’t have a fireplace, you can find ambient videos of crackling fires and other fall scenes on YouTube which are amazing.

Getting Cozy

Once the candles are lit and the fire is crackling, I’m nearly ready to settle down for the evening. But first, I make sure to adorn my sofa with my favourite cozy cushions, fluffy throws and thick blankets. I love weighted blankets like these ones this time of year for maximum warmth and coziness. They also help to reduce stress and anxiety.

Reading A Fall Themed Book

Reading under a blanket is one of my favourite fall night activities. I like to try and match the book I’m reading to the season, so for fall, I like picking books that are set in the fall/winter, and have a mysterious, brooding atmosphere. I just finished reading The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton, and found it the perfect fall read.

Watching A Cozy Show Or Movie

There’s no better time to binge Netflix than in the fall. There are so many shows and movies I associate with this time of year, and rewatching them can really help get me in the fall spirit. My favourite fall show is Gilmore Girls, whereas the Harry Potter series always reminds me of the fall/winter season.

Having A Cozy Spa Night

I love having baths all year round, but they are so much more satisfying in the colder months. Create a soothing, healing bath ritual for yourself where you take time to be mindful and focus solely on your self care. I have many posts on spa nights at home, but this one will give you all the best products that you need to have your very own.

Winding Down For Bed

I love to consume some relaxing content before I go to sleep. This can include a guided meditation, binaural beats, relaxing music, an ASMR video or the ambient videos I spoke about earlier. Find which ones feel good for you.

So there is my cozy fall self care night routine! I hope you enjoyed, and I would love to know your favourite thing to do in the fall evenings.

Lots of love,

Natalie
