So you’re stressed. You search for ways to destress, but realise that you’re too busy and stressed to actually destress. Not destressing makes you more stressed, but giving yourself time to destress just makes you stressed about all the things you ‘should’ be doing instead.

Does this exhausting story sound familiar? If so, DON’T PANIC! For in this post, I’ll be giving you the best ways to QUICKLY practice self care to help you relax/improve your life, that won’t take up too much time.

1.Create A Self Care Box

This is one of the BEST things that people with ‘no time’ can do for self care. To learn more about creating one for yourself, read my Create A Self Care Box post here. It’s the quickest self care fix EVER.

2. Take A Power Nap

This can last as long as you want it to – 10 minutes, 20 minutes – just set your alarm and close your eyes. Scientists have revealed that just closing your eyes can have an effect on your wellbeing, even if you don’t actually sleep!

3. Write A Gratitude List

Take a little time to write a list of 5-10 things that you are grateful for in life. They can be deep things or material things, either way, it will boost your mood and change your mindset FAST.

4. Have A Dance Party

Spending 10 minutes dancing to your favourite music like no one is watching is one of the best ways to decompress and lift your spirits as it releases endorphins and feel-good hormones.

5. Watch An Episode Of Your Favourite Sitcom

Most sitcoms are only 20 minutes long so, if you ever feel stressed or anxious, put on one of your favourite episodes. It’s a good distraction, and it’ll give you some laugh therapy.

6. Tidy Your Desk

Or any small corner of your space. It not only means that your room/home will be a little tidier, but it will fill you with a sense of accomplishment knowing that you’ve done something productive.

7. Read A Chapter Of A Book

Instead of using your lunch break to scroll mindlessly through your phone, read at least a few pages of a book. Maybe even take it outside to get some fresh air at the same time.

8. Make A Smoothie

A smoothie is the easies, quickest way to get your 5 a day. Making time for this first thing in the morning will really set you up for the day, and make you feel productive. Read my favourite recipe in this post.

9. Do A 10 Minute Mindfulness Meditation

YouTube is full of super quick but effective meditations. Just spending 5 minutes focusing on your breath or repeating affirmations to yourself is a great way to self care.

10. Call A Loved One

Taking 10 minutes out of your day to phone a friend or family member, especially one you haven’t spoken to in a while is a great way to boost your mood.

Take some time out for yourself, even if it’s just 10 minutes a day.
